Programme profile
The Aviation Management study programme teaches students the core issues of business administration in the aviation industry, with a view to them moving into trainee management positions in Airport Management or Airline Management. According to IUBH, the programme's strong academic focus, together with its integrated practical components, have repeatedly received praise from the industry.
Students learn industry specific characteristics, regulations and mechanisms and also have courses in more general business management. Research and project work are designed to additionally deepen and intensify this knowledge.
Deutsche Lufthansa AG cooperates with IUBH, through offering an intensive 39-week practical training course, alongside this programme . Selected students are trained across a range of Lufthansa Group management departments. The students" Bachelor Thesis is written at Lufthansa.
Another option is to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot License at the same time as studying for your degree.
Programme content
The three core elements of the curriculum are:
Business Economics: including Mathematics, Statistics, Integrated Service Management, and Finance & Accounting.
Industry-specific modules: including Airport Management, Aviation Policy, Airline Management, Yield-Management, Business Models of Airlines, Slot Management, network Management, Financing Airlines & Airports
Employability: including IT applications, a foreign language courses, Business Communication, etc. form essential skills
Internship: a 5-6 month internship enables students to turn their academic knowledge into practical experience. The internship can be taken either in Germany or abroad
